Nomination Celebration Wrap-up

Thanks to the hundreds of people who came together for this celebration! It was a magical night, right from the opening music with I, the Mountain and Clarence Cachagee’s words to the land, song and smudge. It was a huge honour to be joined again by MP of Saanich-Gulf Islands Elizabeth May, Green Party of Ontario Leader Mike Schriener, and Green Party of Canada Leader Annamie Paul (along with many others!).

So many people contributed to making this celebration such a wonderful night - in particular I wanted to again thank Devon Fernandes - who oversaw all the plans for the night - and Ros Horne, our event MC.
Going forward, we’re continuing to focus on the best of our democracy - listening to our neighbours, offering solutions for our community’s priorities, and advocating in support of those working on the frontlines.
Through it all, we’ll keep earning the trust of our neighbours and building on the momentum we’ve created together, one conversation at a time.
My invitation to you remains the same now that we’re positioned to win: join us in earning a breakthrough, just as was the case when Mike Schriener and Elizabeth May did after having led campaigns like ours in 2019.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Make a financial contribution: We easily surpassed our goal of raising $25,000 at this party, and have now raised two-thirds of what we received in all of 2019. Help us reach our goal of raising the full $140,000, ensuring we can run a fully-funded campaign.
Contribute your time: Be it by helping make phone calls, with data entry, or contributing another skill of yours to our campaign. Let us know about your area of interest.
Host a backyard conversation: Bring together a small group of friends and neighbours for me to hear about their priorities directly.
Take a lawn sign: Let others know you support our campaign.
With your support, whenever an election is called, we will be ready. Ready to bring our community’s priorities to Ottawa. Ready to keep making history together. Ready for a breakthrough.

Merci aux centaines de personnes qui se sont rassemblées pour cette célébration ! Ce fut une nuit magique, dès la musique d'ouverture avec I, the Mountain et les mots de Clarence Cachagee à la terre, le chant et la purification. Ce fut un grand honneur d'être rejoint par la députée de Saanich-Gulf Islands, Elizabeth May, le chef du Parti vert de l'Ontario, Mike Schriener, et la chef du Parti vert du Canada, Annamie Paul (ainsi que de nombreux autres !).

De nombreuses personnes ont contribué à faire de cette célébration une merveilleuse soirée. Je tenais tout particulièrement à remercier Devon Fernandes, qui a supervisé l'organisation de la soirée, et Ros Horne, notre maître de cérémonie.
Pour l'avenir, nous continuerons à nous concentrer sur ce qu'il y a de mieux dans notre démocratie: écouter nos voisins, proposer des solutions aux priorités de notre communauté et défendre les intérêts de ceux qui travaillent en première ligne.
En tout temps, nous continuerons à gagner la confiance de nos voisins et à tirer parti de l'élan que nous avons créé ensemble, une conversation à la fois.
L'invitation que je vous adresse reste la même maintenant que nous sommes en position de gagner: rejoignez-nous pour réaliser une percée, comme l'ont fait Mike Schriener et Elizabeth May après avoir mené des campagnes comme la nôtre en 2019.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Faites une contribution financière: Nous avons facilement dépassé notre objectif de collecter 25 000 $ lors de cette fête, et avons maintenant collecté deux tiers de ce que nous avons reçu pour toute l'année 2019. Aidez-nous à atteindre notre objectif de recueillir la totalité des 140 000 $, nous assurant ainsi que nous puissions mener une campagne entièrement financée.
Donnez de votre temps: Que ce soit en aidant à passer des appels téléphoniques, à saisir des données ou en mettant vos compétences au service de notre campagne. Faites-nous part de vos champs d'intérêt.
