I had the opportunity to chat with Lenore Johnson, owner of LenJo Bakes, about her journey starting the business, dealing with the pandemic, her experience as a Black entrepreneur in Waterloo Region and about local food culture. I learned of our shared love for sad music, and why she happily listens to talk radio but won’t be calling in anytime soon. And while we did talk about the ways she’s felt let down by our federal government in the pandemic, she was quick to also point out how she’s felt so supported by the wider community.
